What can a single font tell you about culture, changing tastes and the amazing history of the modern world?

This is a multisensory tasting with a selection of superb wines, each paired with a significant moment in culture and typography. At the end, you will take an experiential glimpse into the future. The evening is hosted by Sarah Hyndman and Grant Hedley.

Throughout history, both type & wine have been intertwined with entrepreneurialism, technological advances, changing tastes/fashions, and the rise and fall of empires. They both influence and are influenced by other cultures through travel and trade.

Join us beneath the atmospheric Borough arches for an entertaining and multi-sensory journey through time, wine and type with activities and games designed to delight and inform.

In this unique type and wine tasting we will tell the incredible account of the modern world. This is the story of a hacked wine press, the original disruptors, entrepreneurial perseverance, explorers, inventors, revolutions, nostalgia, authenticity, and our vision for the future of type and wine based on trend predictions.

Your hosts for the evening are Sarah Hyndman and wine expert Grant Hedley. This event takes place in the atmospheric Laitwaite’s Arch wine shop in a magnificent Victorian railway arch next to Borough Market.

No prior knowledge of (or interest in) type or design is necessary (over 18s only).
