What is Type Tasting?
The innovative Type Tasting studio was founded in 2013 by Sarah Hyndman, a public speaker and educator who works with exciting clients to challenge assumptions. Type Tastings are immersive events for mainstream audiences, trailblazing workshops and fun talks with lashings of audience participation. Sarah is a published author who explores multisensory typography and is on a mission to change the way we think and talk about typography, and to show how it can be used to create positive change.
Type Tasting is a platform for self-initiated and self-funded investigations into type, perception, multi-sensory typography and typefaces as cultural codes. Sarah researches and quantifies how we respond to typefaces through live experiments, surveys and interviews. She publishes her findings in her books, shares results in her talks and workshops, and has co-published two studies with Professor Charles Spence of Oxford University.
